Renan Barao has landed in Natal after his victory after the American Scott Jorgensen, at UFC 143, for a deserved rest. “I’ll stay a little while with my family, my son and my friends, while they don’t tell me what my next fight is”, said Renan right after arriving at Augusto Severo airport.
About a chance at the title in 2012, the fighter revealed it is his life dream, but preferred not to think about it now. “I’m doing my job and I leave this decision of fighting or not for the belt to Andre Pederneiras (his manager) and the UFC guys. Meanwhile, I keep doing my job and I’m prepared for my next fight, no matter against whoever it is”.
Jair Lourenco, Renan Barao’s coach, hopes his student has a chance at the end of the year. “Dominick Cruz might do one title defense on the beginning of the second semester (against Urijah Faber), so Barao still got one more fight before it, even because otherwise he would be a long time with no fight for then have a chance at the title”, said the coach. |
