After spreading thousands of dollars on its two first editions, the World Professional of Jiu-Jitsu, which happens between the days 14 and 16 of April of next year – besides the no-gi tournament which happens on the days 8 and 9 of the next month – will give a reward of US$ 195 thousand. Before the main tournament, the great names can guarantee their vacancies on the trials, which will happen all around the world, and to travel with all expenses paid to Abu Dhabi, on the Arab Emirates.
The trial which will happen in Rio de Janeiro, scheduled for January 22, has a place set. It will on be the Sports Complex Miécimo da Silva, a gym which has been used to host several matches on Pan American of 2007. “Rio is lacking competitions since Mundial of CBJJ went to the United States, so I’m betting on this competition to be a rescue for the hegemony we have around here. I’m betting on it”, affirmed Silvio Pereira, founder and president of LERJJI, responsible for the organization of the trial in Brazil.
Besides revealing the dates of all trials for Mundial Pro 2011, Silvio confirmed that the event which will happen next year will bring new on the categories of weight, with the male purple-belt dispute as an individual category, and female white/blue dispute apart from the purple/brown/belt.
