Watching it from the corner, the coach Luis Carlos Dórea talked to TATAME and told he was more than satisfied with the win of Demian Maia over Mário Miranda on UFC 118, event which happened Saturday (21) on the United States.
“He managed to use all we’ve trained during the fight. He fought well, won all rounds… Mário Miranda is also to be congratulated for this fight, he survived in there, defended himself many times, so it was nice”, compliments the boxing coach, who saw Demian using a lot of is Jiu-Jitsu skills and fitting several positions while on the ground.
“We know how much he’s training, the work he’s been doing. On the fight with Anderson he learned a lot because it was a title fight, and, on this division, Anderson is undeniable better than anyone else. He fought three rounds and that was very important for him, as an athlete, he learned a lot from it, got more mature, and he’s been really dedicated”, celebrates.
Despite the black-belt could not submit his countryman, Dórea believes that this win showed the evolution of Demian and the guts of his opponent. “Mário showed heart and seriousness… Demian improves some things, managed to use his Jiu-Jitsu, did was we have agreed for him to do and tried to get the submission”. |
