The boxer wanted to keep the fight standing, but the strategist of the octagon did not try to punch him even once, trying the takedown right on the beginning of the fight and got the mount easily. From then on it was a matter of time for the fight to end, and the outcome came by a katagatami in less than three minutes on the first round

Demian Maia beast Mário Miranda by points

Coming from a loss on a title fight with Anderson Silva, the Black belt Demian Maia had a good comeback and beat Mário Miranda, who has been training with Demian’s tormentor. Trying to bring his opponent down during the entire fight, Demian fit several arm bars, but Mário escaped from all of them. After 15 minutes of a lot of Jiu-Jitsu, Demian got the win on the decision of the judges.

Amilcar is submitted on his debut

Just like on the initial round, the duel was warm on the second round, with Mike dominating the actions again. On the final round, Amilcar tried to work on his kicks, but again the American put him down again and tried to fit an arm bar. The Brazilian defended two tries, but end up surrender on the third.

Maynard wins and gets a shot for the belt

The chance for a title fight among the lightweights would be giving for the winner of this bout and Gray Maynard beat Kenny Florian on a boring fight, winning on the judges’ round card decision. With the win, Maynard shall dispute the belt with Edgar, who beat Penn on the main event of the evening. It is worth reminding that Gray was the only one who beat Frank on is MMA career.
