The lightweights Kenny Florian and Gray Maynard will meet this weekend on UFC 118, but it is not only a win that will be disputed. According to Dana White, the winner of this bout will be the next on the line for the lightweight belt, which will be disputed on the same event, between Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn.
Among the possible results’ combinations, there are two rematches. In case Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard win their respectively fights, they will reedit the duel that happened on UFC Fight Night 12, in 2008, exactly when Edgar suffered his only loss in his career. If BJ Penn and Kenny Florian win, the combat will be a rematch of the main event of UFC 101, event on which BJ ran over and submitted Florian with a rear naked choke on the fourth round. |
