Chosen to confront Roy Nelson, winner of the tenth edition of UFC’s reality show, Junior Cigano is pointed out as the man to fight for the belt with Brock Lesnar, but first he will have to face the “chubby” American on UFC 117, which happens on August 7 on the United States. Cigano, who is coming from five knockouts in a row on UFC, is doig the last adjustments onhis preparation in Bahia, Brazil, and had the help of the Nogueira’s brothers, besides Demian Maia and other great names.
“The trainings are great, thanks God, and everything is going like I expected and I’ll be prepared for this fight. I trained with the Nogueiras, Rogério stayed here longer in Bahia than his brother Rodrigo, and Demian Maia helped me a lot, besides other people who came here to help me from the very beginning of my preparation. This week I’m on my final stage of preparation, it’s time to slow it down a bit and I’ll do my last sparring on Saturday, so I can be 100% for this sparring. Next week is the time for me to keep my good state and conditioning for the fight”, commented Cigano, who does not intend to run away from Roy’s strong point.
“My intention is to keep the fight stand up, because I like the bang and I want to use my boxing, which I consider to be my best skill and that’s the way I must follow to surprise my opponent. But if this fight goes to the ground, I’m also prepared, because I’ve been training a lot of Jiu-Jitsu and I’m sure I still can surprise on the ground too”, concluded Junior dos Santos. |
