Being chosen to fight on UFC on Versus 2, which happend on August 1, Thiago Tavares has no fight now that his countryman Willamy Chiquerim injuried his knee. Veteran of UFC, with eight bouts on the event, the southern guy was very disappointed for being out of the card. “This postponement was complicated, even because two weeks before the fight many people said he wouldn’t fight. I’m here on the United States, where I came to do my preparation and I didn’t really believed this fight would happen, but since it was announced, I kept training until a week before the event, when he told he got hurt”, said Tavares, who did not spare any critics to Chiquerim.
“He fucked it up and now I’m out. If he was hurt before and didn’t say a thing, it was very irresponsible of him, prejudiced me, because he told them right before the fight, so they didn’t have many time to find somebody else”, said Tavares, who is ready to fight as soon as UFC finds him an opponent. “Now I’m waiting for the event’s organization to tell me something, and they’ll try to include me in some of their next editions or I’ll replace someone who eventually gets hurt too for the events of 1st and 7th os August. I’m ready for fighting, I’m just waiting”, concluded Thiago.
