The 2010 Arizona BJJ State Championship had a lot of MMA stars shining. In the black belt, Hermes França, a former WEC champion and former UFC lightweight contender, won the middleweight division. In the purple belt, WEC lightweight champion Ben Henderson won weight and absolute classes. In the black belt, Nova União talent Bruno Bastos won weight and category, taking a $ 1,000 check home. Robert Drysdale’s protégé, Marcelo Nunes won weight and absolute categories in the brown belt. The next championship is scheduled to take place in Arizona on October 23 and 24.
