Ten months after being released from the UFC, Fabrício Werdum debuted with the right foot on Strikeforce, with a quick submission over Mike Kyle. Three months later, the opponent was Antônio “Bigfoot” Silva, and the Chute Boxe athlete won once again. After the rumors of a possible fight against Fedor Emelianenko, the Brazilian expects the opponent’s confirm.
“I must fight in February or March, and I imagine that it could be against (Andrei) Arlovski”, told Werdum, who lost to the Belarus at UFC 70 by split decision. “I lost to him by 2x1, it was an ugly fight, nobody liked, but I never choose opponents, I can fight anyone, but then I wanna fight Fedor”, Werdum said, talking about his last fight, against Silva.
“It was one of the toughest fights I’ve ever done, for sure. He’s very tough guy, he’s strong and has a heavy hand”, the Chute Boxe athlete said, revealing an friendly ambient on the backstage. “He’s really nice, after the fight we laugh together”, tells. The judges’ decision on the fight was controversy. “He gave an interview after the fight and changed the speech, but everybody saw that I won the fight. He won the first, but I won the second and the third rounds. The three judges said I won”, finished.
