After a controversial decision between Maurício Shogun and Lyoto Machida, TATAME.com talked with the challenger, defeated on judges’ decision, to know his thoughts of the fight. “It was a tough fight, I knew that Lyoto was good, but I could put my rhythm on”, Shogun said, believing that he deserves the victory.

“I’m sure that I won, everybody thinks that I won. I talked with a lot of people here and they thought that I won, but unfortunately I think that they gave him the victory because some interests”, the fighter criticized. “Everyone was surprised with what happened in the end, but what can I do?”.

After the 25 minutes of fight, Shogun went to the hotel and watched the video of the fight, and revealed how would he score it. “In my point of view, being fair, I won four rounds. People thought the same, Dana White, Lorenzo (Fertitta), Rickson Gracie was beside us… Everyone gave me the victory”, revealed.

On his Twitter, UFC’s president, Dana White, revealed that both parts agreed to make a rematch, and the manager Eduardo Alonso talked with TATAME.com about the controversy. “It was unanimous here, there was no single person who didn’t give the victory to Mauricio”, said. Happy with the athlete’s performance, Alonso talks about the team’s work to the fight.

“This fight had a double sad taste, but also pride. Once again nobody believed on our team, just like the fight against Liddell, and we made an amazing strategy, that no one had made before”, Alonso said, sad about leaving Los Angeles without the UFC title. “Unfortunately, we’ll have to fight twice to have what we must had today, but we hope that they accept (the rematch)”, finished.
