After submitting two opponents and guarantee the gold medal in the weight, Beatriz Mesquita (Gracie Humaitá) said: “it’s my second world title in the purple belt, now I’ll go after the absolute, which is my dream. Its five fights, but I’m already prepared. I’ll go with everything. I hope that the absolute and the brown belt come, to start with the right foot. (laughs)”, predicted the purple belt to TATAME. And she right!
Submitting all the opponents in the open class, the fighter faced Tammy Griego (Gracie Barra). Though the purple belt tried, but in the final, wasn’t able to finalize. She took the back, shaved, made what she could. In the end, 13x0 on the scoreboard and a gold medal in the chest. "I wanted to finalize, I seek the finalization all the time. I won by points, but I wanted to finalize", concluded the athlete. In the podium to receive the medal, one more reason to celebrate. From the hands of Letícia Ribeiro, her teacher at Gracie Humaitá, Bia was graded brown belt. |
