After the great submission at The Glory, Gustavo “Ximú” went to Canada to train with his friend and UFC welterweight champion, Georges St. Pierre, and now is back to Brazil. “I came here today (yesterday), because training there are just finished and I’ll fight in Canada at September. I came back to Brazil and I believe GSP will come here by August 22nd, to help me finish my training”, told Ximú, that made a good contract and will fight at September 13th.
“I’ll fight at Xtreme MMA, the major Canadian event, against Brandon Curts. I saw a couple of his fights at Youtube and I believe he’ll try to come over me with punches, get me to the ground and work on the ground and pound”, said the Gracie Barra athlete, that commented the terms of the three-fights contract with the event. “The good thing of the contract is that I’m only exclusive inside Canada. I can sign wherever I want out of there, so Renato “Babalu” is helping me and trying something for me at California”, told the fighter, that commented the training with GSP.
“I trained Wrestling, defense and the physical part with them… I trained with St. Pierre, David Laseau, Danis Kang… Almost all the athletes there were from Dream, Pride, UFC… It was a Top training, highly professional. It was a great experience for me and I’ll try to continue it here now”, finished the athlete.
